You have brain fog, crushing fatigue, chest pain, and neuropathy. Your doctor says your labs look normal.
Volume 1 is the foundation. It covers all six mechanisms driving Long COVID, gives you a framework to identify which causes are behind your specific symptoms, and lays out evidence-based treatment strategies you can bring to your provider.

About This Volume
From the author
Volume 1 is where everything starts. Before you can treat Long COVID effectively, you need to understand why over 200 symptoms can appear across every organ system in your body, and why the standard approach of treating each symptom individually rarely gets patients better. In this book, I break Long COVID down into six root causes: dysautonomia, mitochondrial dysfunction, gut dysbiosis, mast cell activation, endothelial dysfunction, and hormonal imbalance. Each of these mechanisms contributes a different percentage to each patient’s symptoms, creating what I call a unique fingerprint. No two patients look the same, and no two treatment plans should be the same either.
I have been treating Long COVID since 2020, before the term even existed. Through years of clinical experience, I developed a system that assigns your symptoms to the causes responsible for them, rather than chasing symptoms one by one. Most people piece together treatments from social media groups and internet searches. That is like trying to assemble a jigsaw puzzle using pieces from several different boxes at the same time. It does not work. This book gives you an organized, evidence-based framework that you can take to your healthcare provider and turn into a real treatment plan.
This second edition includes updated chapters on clotting and microclots, expanded sections on IVIG therapy for small fiber neuropathy, new material on accelerated aging and epigenetics, and a dedicated chapter on pediatric Long COVID. Whether you are a patient trying to make sense of what is happening to you, or a physician looking for a structured approach to a condition that affects every system in the body, this book is the starting point. The other volumes in this series go deeper into each individual mechanism, but Volume 1 is the map that shows you the full territory.
From the Book
"Long COVID is similar to describing a multi-car pileup. In each vehicle, people will have diverse injuries. One will have a broken arm. Another patient will have a bruised chest. Another will have burns on the leg. Despite a common cause, each person's treatment plan will be unique."
Dr. Robert Groysman, MD

What format is this book available in?
The book is available as a digital download (PDF/eBook). A paperback edition is also available on Amazon. Once purchased through the Long COVID Family store, you receive instant access to the digital version.
Is this written for patients or healthcare providers?
Both. The series is written so that patients can understand their biology without a medical background, and so that physicians have a structured, mechanism-based framework they can use with their own Long COVID patients. Dr. Groysman specifically avoids jargon and always explains the "why" behind the science.
Do I need to read Volume 1 first?
Volume 1 introduces the full six-mechanism framework and is the recommended starting point. The mechanism-specific volumes (2–7) build on that foundation, though each volume can also stand alone if you already know which mechanism you want to explore.
What is the refund policy?
For refund and return questions, contact the Long COVID Family store directly at customer@covidinstitute.org or call (214) 390-7557. Due to the digital nature of the books, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
